I have been a resident of Kamloops for over three decades, having relocated here with my family during the summer of 1987, when I was a young child of five. Throughout my time in this community, I have actively engaged in the arts as both a visual and performing artist, sharing my expertise with individuals of all ages and encouraging them to explore their creativity and express themselves through their unique talents.
My philosophy is grounded in the fundamental goodness of humanity, and I am committed to fostering connections, compassion, and understanding through my life’s work. I have dedicated myself to the pursuit of service, most recently through my work in elementary education. I hope to inspire the next generation to discover their inner sparkle and nurture their self-expression, as we collectively strive to build a bright and luminous future.
The moment before teaching "Violet Path" to a room of amateur artists.
My favorite part of teaching painting is how every single person has a different interpretation of the piece. Everyone is given the same instructions, and everyone experiences those instructions in their unique way. Everyone puts their special something into their work, and it’s beautiful every time.
Creating a custom commission for one of my students.
Sometimes my students would ask me to create custom pieces for them based on a vision they have. I would spend a lot of time asking them questions and having them explain their vision, the emotions behind each piece, and the stories behind their vision. Each detail contains their experiences, memories, and emotions. It’s an honor to bring their experiences to life.
